Originally designed in 1963, the FJ Elements family was reintroduced by Louis Poulsen in 2025, including the original two-toned grey variant that appeared in Juhl's early sketches.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe lamp's name comes directly from those sketches, in which Juhl described the design as being composed of \"elements\" — a word that captures both its construction logic and its visual character. The defining feature is a rotating lower shade: by turning it around the upper shade, the direction of light can be adjusted and the lamp's appearance transformed. An opening between the upper shade and the housing allows for subtle upward illumination alongside the primary downward-directed light.
